Technology Applications
Students will have to use computers and the internet in order to perform the research for the data they will need to interpret. Some websites will be recommended by the teachers on the student resources page, but the students will also need to find more data on their own and determine whether the sources are valid. This is a good exercise to teach students to perform online research and how to determine what data is appropriate and true.
For the art project, students can choose what type of art to use. If they use music, photography or any other art that requires technology, this will be a part of their learning.
During the school debate, we will use the Poll Everywhere Classroom Response System to have the audience vote on which of the three groups wins the debate. This will allow all of the other students and teachers in the audience to be a part of the debate and will also help the students in this class see who their peers think won the debate. As part of the poll, students answering will be asked to give a short explanation of why the winning group received their vote. Students in the groups will have to use this app to put the data together for their final reflections.
